The Jumblies - Edward Lear

They went to sea in a Sieve, they did,
in a Sieve they went to sea:
in spite of all their friends could say,
on a winter's morn, on a stormy day,

in a Sieve they went to sea!
And when the Sieve turned round and round,
and everyone cried, 'You'll all be drowned!'
they called aloud, 'Our Sieve ain't big,
but we don't care a button! We don't care a fig!
In a Sieve we'll go to sea!'

Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblies live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
and they went to sea in a Sieve.

They sailed away in a Sieve, they did,

in a Sieve they sailed so fast,
with only a beautiful pea-green veil
tied with a riband by way of a sail,
to a small tobacco-pipe mast;
and everyone said, who saw them go,
'O won't they be soon upset, you know!

For the sky is dark and the voyage is long,
and happen what may, it's extremely wrong
in a Sieve to sail so fast!'
Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblies live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
and they went to sea in a Sieve.

The water it soon came in, it did,
the water it soon came in;
so to keep them dry, they wrapped their feet
in a pinky paper all folded neat,
and they fastened it down with a pin.
And they passed the night in a crockery-jar,
and each of them said, 'How wise we are!
Though the sky be dark, and the voyage be long,
yet we never can think we were rash or wrong,
while round in our Sieve we spin!'

Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblies live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
and they went to sea in a Sieve.

And all night long they sailed away;

and when the sun went down,
they whistled and warbled a moony song
to the echoing sound of a coppery gong,
in the shade of the mountains brown.
'O Timballoo! How happy we are,
when we live in a Sieve and a crockery-jar,

and all night long in the moonlight pale,
we sail away with a pea-green sail,
in the shade of the mountains brown!'
Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblies live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,

and they went to sea in a Sieve.

They sailed to the Western Sea,they did,
to a land all covered with trees,
and they bought an Owl, and a useful Cart,
and a pound of Rice and a Cranberry Tart,
and a hive of silvery Bees.
And they bought a Pig, and some green Jackdaws,
and a lovely Monkey with lollipop paws,
and forty bottles of Ring-Bo-Ree,
and no end of Stilton Cheese.
Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblics live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
and they went to sea in a Sieve.

And in twenty years they all came back,
in twenty years or more,
and everyone said, 'How tall they've grown!
For they've been to the lakes, and the Torrible Zone,
And the hills of the Chankly Bore';
and they drank their health, and gave them a feast
of dumplings made of beautiful yeast;
and everyone said, 'If only we live,
we too will go to sea in a Sieve,
to the hills of the Chankly Bore!'

Far and few, far and few,
are the lands where the Jumblies live;
their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
and they went to sea in a Sieve.

Delhi Blasts: How many needs to die before it's "too late"?

As of now, at least 18 people have died and nearly 90 others injured in the New Delhi serial blasts (source: NDTV). First Hydrabad, then Jaipur, next Ahmadabad and now it is Delhi again. Same type of blasts, same type of equipments and may be done by the same group too. And home ministry is saying, "All are low intensity blasts." Wow!!!

Yes, I do feel India is becoming more and more a soft target for the terrorism. If the IB, and other intelligence organizations of the central govt. were doing their duties how these things happen I don't know. Irresponsible. What else can I call the officials? Taking grands of money (take into account the hike after 6th pay commission also) and not doing their duty. I know it is a lot more easier to say than do, but yet, it is the officials and police upon whom we rely in terms of security. And govt. is bound to provide it's citizens a secure life which possibly it doesn't. There is irresponsibility in terms of investigation and in terms of prosecutions also. After these kinds of heinous events, this is the very image of the govt. that is projected upon common citizens like me.

The second thing is, I feel, Indians are very much akin in escaping the rules. We freely enter the station through the exits, freely drop garbage in wherever we can, freely encourage auto rickshaws to break the traffic rules, freely smoke in "No Smoking" railway compartments and petrol pumps, freely take articles in the train which is prohibited, freely bend the law wherever we can.

And here in India we find lobbyists working for even the most dreaded extremists and criminals. The kind heart of our netas cry for ALL. We heard UP leaders working hard for lifting the ban upon SIMI. We saw rallys in favour of the mercy petition of Md. Afzal. Treating the people of India as vote banks and dividing them in sects, casts, religions and playing ill schemes... how long these will go on?

I saw two friends in a park which seemed to me the Paalki Bazaar rooftop, the boy and the girl both was blown in a blast. Two policemen was dragging the boy in blue shirt in one side and four other people was taking the girl with blue denim and yellow kurti in the opposite side. There was blood all over the girl's face and shoulder and blood was dripping all over the concrete floor.

I could have been in Delhi right now if things didn't get messed up a few days back. I could have taken the M.Tech course at JNU... and I could have been one among the list. But as long as we are safe we should just sit and enjoy the news in the TV during the breaks of our favorite soap opera. But who knows? May be it's our city next in the list to be blown...

I know this is the very things they want to achieve. To inject panic in our heart. To make us feel insecure all the way. But what we need to do is react not get panicked.

Please....
  1. Try to follow the rules all the way. Rules are designed to help and protect us. You do not become a HERO when you break the rules.
  2. Please react when the man next to you lights up a cigarette in a rail compartment. Please say you are having problem in it. Please react when you see wrongs are being done. If we all become like Satyendra Dubey, no more Satyendra Dubey will get killed. Even now, I strongly feel most of us are noble by heart. Just show externally what you feel internally. Don't keep mum.
  3. Please help your fellow citizen when he/she needs it. Please don't try to avoid situations.
  4. Please do not get panicked and spread panic and rumors.
We all, if we act together, can keep India a safe and secure place to live.

Jai Hind.

Close Your Eyes

Close your eyes, and think some thing beyond. Think something new that you never thought before. Let your imagination fly and you fly as well with her. In places you never gone before... in things that never are.

What do you see?

It's a lot fun... believe me... just do it. Just close your eyes and shut your mind inside and let it be at it wants to be. Let your mind think freely and you type what you see.

Ok I am testing it now...

I see a long road. With high rises in both of the sides (probably an effect of Mafia), This is a kind of flyover. At one side there are stretch of high rises and high rises; the other side can not be seen. I see a man, slim, medium height with red-black check full sleeve shirt and a black formal trouser running on the flyover. There is no cars...

Now i see that man (and that road) beside a grassy field, the man is running and running... only the back side of the man can be seen; i can not see his face.

The running is more like a exercise kind of thing than running for some cause. The man is quite agile.

The man stops near a old house... very old in deed with green door... he enters it.

(That's all folks...)
